The XBall Field
The XBall field is only available to use Sundays from 3pm to 6pm on the days where speedball practice is taking place. It's not available to the general public on a regular basis, as it takes a huge amount of work to setup and cleanup after. If you are interested in joining the competitive side of paintball, please join the forum at www.SplattersPaintball.com/forum.
The XBall field was created solely for competitive paintball, from the foundation up (literally). The SPS was born with one event in 2004, and had evolved into the series to play. The SPS was 4 tournaments each summer, bringing out the best paintball talent from within Manitoba and the surrounding Provinces and States. In 2012, the SPS became the MSL (Manitoba Speedball League), with more passion and prizes for the competitive scene! Welcome to the largest 5-man series in Central Canada!

After moving over 150 cubic yards of dirt, placing 25,000 square feet of sod, 60 hydro poles, 600' of 20' tall netting, 6000 zip ties, and 1400' of steel cable, the new XBall field is a DREAM! It is visible from the road; YES, this is what all the hydro poles are being used for! The XBall field, also known as a Speedball or Airball field, is the field catering to the competitive side of paintball. Quite simply, the XBall field was named such for it's flagship 15' tall X, located in the middle of the grass field. Airball fields are simply open grass fields where inflatable bunkers made of canvas are placed (see picture above). The use of the inflatable bunkers allows for the paint to bounce off the bunkers, allow for spectators to see easily the players behind the bunkers, and allows for the layout to be changed weekly (so the players never become bored of one specific layout. The field only measures 160' long by 140' wide.
The XBall field is enclosed by 20' netting right round the field. Spectators can literally stand within feet of the players, without the possibility of being hit by the balls! That, together with the fact that speedball players are shooting paint at upwards of 15 balls PER SECOND, watching speedball can be just as exhilarating as playing!
